About The Highlands The Grounds Clubhouse Dog Services Keeper's House Upland Birds Specialty Services Members

As a respected hunt club, we have expectations of our members as defined by the following policies:

Procedures

The Highlands hunting season is open from October 1 through March 31 (closed on all major holidays and opening weekend of WI Deer Season). Hunt hours are from 8AM-5PM, Tues.-Sun. (morning hunts end promptly at noon; afternoon hunts begin at 1PM).

Hunting shall be by reservation only at least 24 hours in advance. Routine cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations due to bad weather should be made no later than one hour prior to your starting time. Failure to cancel will result in a charge for number of requested birds released (or $25.00 if no birds were released).

All members and guests must check in at the Clubhouse before and after their hunt and have a signed Release Waiver on file.

Hunters are kindly asked to pick up all empty shells and other litter.

By Wisconsin state law, all birds leaving the property must be recorded and tagged.

Members must accompany their guests and will be held responsible for their actions.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept under complete control at all times and on a leash until they reach their hunt section. Uncontrolled dogs will not be permitted. Members are not allowed inside the dog kennels or flight pens at any time.

Fees

There is a five-bird minimum release per gun. Member's accounts will be charged for the birds released or the total number shot, whichever is greater.

Pre-purchased birds are not transferable to another account and must be released prior to March 15. Unreleased birds will not carry over to the following year.

Member fees for The Highlands Sportsmen's Club and Kennels are not refundable.

Members are subject to 1.5% service charge for all balances over 30 days.

Safety

All hunters must wear some blaze orange at all times while hunting (vests are strongly recommended).

Guns must be kept unloaded and cased until they reach their assigned field. No more than four guns per hunt section will be allowed. Hunters must stay within their private hunt sections.
Absolutely no consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted prior to your hunt.

All hunters under the age of 18 must have passed a Hunters Safety Program and must present their Hunters Safety Certificate to The Highlands management staff the day of their hunt. All hunters under legal age must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.

No shooting within 250 feet of any buildings or 200 feet of paved roads.

The Highlands reserves the right to revoke membership privileges for those not adhering to club rules and safety standards or misconduct (without refund) as determined by management.
